Point of Beginning

A tragedy claims his beautiful young wife and leaves Alex Nelson reeling. He retreats to northern Michigan and supports himself by opening a small land surveying firm. Drowning in cynicism and despair, Alex is intrigued when he meets Manny Durn, a young, severely disfigured woman whose strength and spirit challenge his perspectives. Circumstances later bring them together in Chicago, where Manny’s influence helps Alex begin to heal and come to terms with his own adversity and the sometimes tragic nature of the world.
