Poetry and poets

Poetry and poets are among the oldest books that were classified in the translations of poets, and it is an authentic source and an important reference in its door. Ibn Qutaybah, in this book, was not keen to fulfill the poets and limit them and exclude their path, but rather was limited to the celebrities. He said in the introduction to the book: "It was the most intense of the famous poets who were known to the people of the people of literature and those who are valid to protest their poems in the stranger, grammar, and in the book of God Almighty, and the hadith of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace." Also, Ibn Qutaybah did not classify poets in layers as he did, but rather his concern was translating, collecting poets news, and choosing a group of their poems, which he marketed as representation or their occasions. He was taking into account the time arrangement in eating the poets, and most of his owners of the ancients were, but he did not give him the translations of some of the modernists such as Abu Al -Atahiya, Muslim bin Al -Walid, Al -Abbas bin Al -Ahnaf and their rule.
