The last 20 years have witnessed a growing uneasiness about the future direction of the mass media. Places in the News examines the origin and destination of the news appearing in 21 of Canada's daily newspapers. It investigates the cities and countries that provide the preponderance of news, their influence and the role of national elitism, cultural affinity and parochialism in Canadian major cities.
