Piano Portraits

The newest, largest and most exciting addition to the Original Solo Repertoire(TM) series These especially composed pieces introduce the young Pianist to a wide variety of genres through music history including many cultures from across the globe; music from far and near, old and new. In this unique album you will find twenty-four miniature musical vignettes for Piano that are designed as representations of varied styles. All are ideal for school, college, public or private recitals or simply playing for fun. Enhancing young performers' musicianship skills, the technical standards are equivalent to those of the UK international piano examinations grades five through eight. Two pieces in this album (Trick Cyclist and Jazzin' Grace) are set for grade examinations and one (Oisseaux d'eau) for diploma examinations in the syllabuses of Trinity College London. Four pieces (Nattasang, Folk Song Fantasy, Oiseaux d'eau and The Elephant and The Mouse) were set as test pieces for the finals of the Grieg International Piano Competition for Young Performers held in Oslo, Norway in June 2017.
