More than 120 photographs capture the history and contemporary sights of Philadelphia.
From the “most historic square mile” in the country to one of the largest urban parks in the world and then to the realms of sports and cheesesteaks, 120 images take the viewer on a journey through the rich history, sights, and pop culture of Philadelphia.
Included are oft-visited iconic spots, such as Independence Hall, where the country’s founding fathers committed to rebellion, hammered out the Constitution, and governed the nation, and the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, immortalized in the movie “Rocky.”
Interwoven are many historic and contemporary scenes that are associated with what is locally and loosely known as “center city.” The book is a brief travelogue through the time and space of this old and venerable but very much alive place.
