Kenton Blythe (the author) is also an actor and wrote the book in the hopes kids would want to read it out loud to their parents and friends. It used to be a performance piece.

Kenton Blythe and Nathan C. Younger met each other randomly on a streetcar in Toronto. They are both from Alberta and now live down the street from each other in Toronto.
