Damon Richardson is a young, Ivy League-educatedAfrican American who was raised in a comfortable,integrated suburb. Confident in his abilities andconvinced that his background shields him from racialprejudice, he lands a job at an advertising firm where hehopes to quickly climb the career ladder. Josh Ford works at the same firm, yet has a vastly differentpast. He grew up in the projects and was educated ata historically Black college. Despite their differingbackgrounds, the two become inseparable, sharing morningcoffees and dreams. When Damon s supervisor unexpectedlyoffers him a high-profile project, he assumes it s a rewardfor his talent and hard work. He couldn t be more wrong ashe distances himself from Josh to prepare for the importantpresentation, leaving the friendship in jeopardy.
