Paper Tigers: The German Armor Crisis 1943 - 1944

The year is 1943, and the Germans are facing a crisis on the Eastern Front. After the debacle at Stalingrad, they needed some means of regaining the initiative to put them back on the path to victory or at least prevent total defeat. They put much of their faith in two tank designs - the Panther and Tiger - to bring them back from the brink. This book details the design process and use of these vehicles and shows that, far from preventing German defeat, they instead hastened it.
