Our Money

This booklet is about money and our monetary system. It outlines the current system, indicates how it hinders us in addressing our economic, social and environmental problems, and gives pointers on what to do about it. The aim of this booklet is to contribute to the creation of a new monetary system that serves all people rather than the lucky few and contributes to economically sound, socially equitable and environmentally sustainable development. As such it is part of a range of initiatives in various countries to put the current monetary system up for discussion and replace it by a better one. There is, however, still a long way to go in getting our monetary system at the top of the political and public agenda. This booklet aims to contribute to getting it there, not only because of the inequities of the current system but also, and especially so, because changing the system is essential for addressing society's environmental, social and economic problems.
