(Al-Otaibi Dreams) is the fifth collection of very short stories by Egyptian author Mounir Otaibi, who won the State Encouragement Award for his first collection in this genre, (The Spirit of the Story).In his new collection, Otaibi uses a nearly forgotten traditional creative framework, "The Dream," to present his visions of contemporary man and his psychological, social, political, philosophical, and cosmic crises. He draws on the energy of dreams to express these visions in a different way, using a language that combines the poetics of dreams with the rigor of the very short story, with its expressive intensity.In his Dreams, Otaibi not only offers the reader narrative pleasure, but also opens doors for him and with him, through which the spirit enters and through which contemplation swims toward knowledge of the self, the world, and the complex relationships between them.
