Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. IN presenting this volume to my comrades, and to the public, I am aware that I have much to answer for, but I have the satisfaction of feel ing that my sins are those of omission, rather than commission. Frequent interruptions in the preparation of the work have compelled me to pass over incidents and events in too cursory a manner, involving much-that is due to a faithful history of the Florida War, as well as to individual reputation and character.
