As a true-blue Trade Union leader, working in the thick of the economic and industrial turmoil of Australia's Latrobe Valley, John Parker brought a human point of view to a very hard-nosed scene. Acknowledging the reality of climate change, he worked to shape the future rather than be lost in it. He was inspired by a wider vision of a harmonious and integrated community rather than holding to narrow industrial interests.
