He is considered one of the great French writers in the first half of the twentieth century. Arabic language readers knew him through his most famous novels, "The Counterfeiters," "The Vatican Cellars," and "The Narrow Door."Andre Gide was the one who introduced French readers to the literature of Taha Hussein, through his wonderful presentation of the French translation of the book "The Days." There is no doubt that the dean of Arabic literature achieved the first in translating and studying this play in Arabic, just as the West preceded themselves in combining these two legends in one book.
