Not So Silent Night

Christmas. The night of Jesus Christ's birth. What sounds were there on that "silent night" oh so long ago?

Was the inn keeper's mind reverberating with sounds coming from the overflowing rooms? Could a little boy in town hear the rustle of the animals in the stable surrounding the baby Jesus? Did Joseph's ears ring with praise, or worry, or a little of both?

Journey to Bethlehem on the night of Jesus' birth, and listen for the sounds that call us to remember the gift he brought to every human heart-the sounds of that, perhaps, not so silent night.
