Hardcover Edition - Hanine Moghtareb: Daftar Ayamy, or Nostalgia of An Immigrant: A Poetic Memoir, is a collection of poems written in the Arabic language. It relays the author's journey as a Lebanese woman from the green hills of Dhour el Shweir, Lebanon, to the United States of America. Through various poems and short narratives, she reaches out to her eldest granddaughter, Maya, as she reflects upon the emotional struggles and challenges that many Lebanese immigrants face in any foreign country. Its inspiration stems from her town's natural beauty with its polished red-tiled roofs, its perfumed paths of green pine, and its authentic relationships among Nora's family, friends, and neighbors. It is a rhythmic longing for the homeland, a defiance of all distances that immigration abides by, and a story of love, commitment, courage, and hope.
