Norse Apostle

A story set in 10th-century Scandinavia during the Christianization of the Vikings. The protagonist is a former Norse raider who has adopted Christianity abroad and now returns to his home village. The village is hostile, expecting him to fight and raid. The protagonist faces a moral dilemma: he must prove that adhering to the Christian doctrine of "e;turning the other cheek"e; and choosing mercy is more courageous than violent retribution. The narrative should highlight the conflict between the old Norse warrior culture and his new faith.
