Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The Course of Instruction for Rural Schools, as outlined by the Committee of Twelve, is appended, not only for the valuable suggestions it contains, but also to show that the outlines in this Manual are in harmony with its require ments along all essential lines.
