The workbook focuses on the reading and writing (Paper II ) components of the CSEC examination. All items are original.

The examining body (CXC) consistently reports that students continually perform poorly on the paper II (reading and writing paper) compared to the other papers. It also recommends that students be exposed to these types of items from as early as possible. It is with these in mind that the author decided to compose a workbook that seeks to expose students to the types of questions and the structure of the exam paper itself, and how they can interpret and manipulate the items from as early as first form; Grade 7.
