In 1898, the Consolidation Act united Manhattan, Staten Island, the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens into the New York City that we know today. This book explores the origins, geography, and special features of each of New York’s five boroughs with primary source materials, vivid color photographs, and authentic and engaging text.
