My Adventures Around the World: South America: Summer 2014

During the summer of 2014 I traveled from Lima, Peru and made a gigantic circle south through Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia before returning to Lima.From Lima, I ventured through Huacachina, Paracas, Arequipa, the Colca Canyon, and Tacna before entering Chile. Continuing to the south I passed through Iquique, La Serena, Valparaiso, Vina del Mar, and Santiago. My favorite place that I have ever visited in all of my travels was next, Easter Island or Rapa Nui. After returning to Santiago, I took the bus over the Andes to Mendoza, Argentina. San Juan and Buenos Aires were next along with a ferry ride over to Colonia, Uruguay. Puerto Iguazu and the gorgeous Iguazu Falls were next before continuing into Ciudad del Este and Asuncion, Paraguay. After a nice break in Asuncion, I journeyed back into Argentina checking out the sights in Salta, the Quebrada de Cafayate, Purmamarca, Tilcara, Humahuaca and La Quiaca. Another favorite on this journey was the town of Tupiza in Bolivia as well as my adventure in a Land Cruiser through the Atacama Desert. The Salar de Uyuni, the Laguna Colorada, Isla de Pascado and the town of Colahani were amazing followed by a visit to the capital of Bolivia, La Paz.After La Paz, I continued to the north to visit Copacabana, Tiahuanaco, and the Isla del Sol. Once again in Peru, I toured through Puno, the Isla Uros, Sicuani, and Huaro before stopping in Cusco. Completing the circle to Lima meant a visit to the amazing Cusco area sights, Pisac, Urubmba, Ollantaytambo, Moray, Maras, Chinchero, and the magnificent Machu Picchu.On the way from Cusco to Lima, I also explored Nazca and then spent my remaining time roaming around Miraflores and Lima.
