The first six words of the title is transliterated from the Arabic. Parallel Latin and Arabic text. A translation by Thomas Hunt of 'Abd al-lat-if's work known as 'Abdollatiphi histori gypti compendium': "From Dr. Sharpe's prolegomena to Thomas] Hyde's works, it would seem that the translation was actually completed. It remained unpublished, however" (DNB). Thomas Hunt issued in 1746 'Proposals for printing by subscription, Abdollatiphi histori gypti compendium'.
