This series of fiction and non-fiction books is designed for children and teenagers learning English as a second language. As well as helping young readers to develop their vocabulary and language skills, the books in the series are graded on four levels. On the fourth level of the "Mactracks" series, this language reader relates the story of three young children who come to live with their father on the Loriana Settlement Scheme. However, a big shock awaits them, and their new life does not turn out as expected. As the eldest, Njoroge finds he must look after his brother and sister, and protect the farm - and their way of farming - against many who wish to chase them off the land.
