Trapped in a fire at a Las Vegas casino, unlucky, overweight Ricky Smith nosedives off his balcony and into the hotel pool and discovers that his luck--and his life--have changed forever as the loser is transformed into a major-league winner, until ex-cop Tony Valentine is hired by casino owners to prove that Ricky's winning streak is anything but kosher.
