Moon Wranglers

Moonlight trickled down the canyon walls as the caravan followed the narrow path along the river. Slowly gaining elevation, the light overhead began to intensify. Not a word was spoken as the four riders pushed on. Each knew the plan once they crested the ridge. They'd been here before; every seventeen years for as long as they could remember.
