The present work enables a new reading of the "Titurel" fragments by Wolfram von Eschenbach, one of the most difficult texts of the German Middle Ages. Sager shows that the "Titurel" can be interpreted in the closest connection to "Parzival". He treats the representation of female literary reception in the Grail Novel as a model for Sigune''s problematic reading, new connections to contemporary hagiography in the representation and interpretation of children''s games, differences in handwritten tradition, Bakhtin''s "dialogism" and the decentred "Titurel" narrator, the different socialization of the sexes as well as the love secret and the representation of subjectivity and concludes with a new look at the old "question of guilt" and an appreciation of Sigune, whose life path may exceed that of the main hero Parzival in critical and aesthetic potency.
