Migration Surveys in Low Income Countries (1984) is an attempt to encourage the collection of analytically appropriate data that can be used to help in the design of migration-related policies. It looks at the theoretical perspectives that have been used in the study of migration phenomena, and brings out implications for data collections. It discusses issues of primary concern in the design of migration surveys, as well as analytical issues. Social and demographic issues, work activity, income transfers - all are considered in depth.
