Migration and Social Capital

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the migration phenomenon of migrants from the Pacific to Chile, taking into account the transformation of social capital. The information obtained seeks to generate a continuation of the debate on migration from this viewpoint. For this reason, it is a significant contribution for Political Science to analyze these motivations in the light of migration and the impacts that the implementation of the decisions that both States have taken for migrants, in this particular case of the migrants from the Colombian Pacific. The estimated period between 2010 and 2018 is covered, firstly, because 2010 represents a milestone in the growth of the Colombian population in Chile; and secondly, the first period of 2018 is taken because there is a change in the migration policy in the country.
