Foucault's ethic historicizes Kant's great questions on knowledge, obligation, and hope. He asks not "What can I know?" but rather "How have my questions been produced? How has the path of my knowing been determined?" Not "What ought I to know?" or "What may I hope for?" by "How have the parameters of my aspirations been defined?
