I'm Charlie Mathews, and this is my true story of how love saved me from the Jehovah's Witnesses. I met my future wife while working at a psychiatric hospital. My problem was that I had been promised in marriage to a person who like my parent's, was a Jehovah's Witness. This novel chronicles my journey to liberation, and reveals what I discovered about a religion I had been raised to call, "The Truth".Spoiler alert - in the end I get out of the asylum of the Jehovah's Witnesses, and I marry the girl I had fallen in love with. Yet the tactics and coercion documented in this book - all of which are known and used by the Witnesses well trained clergy - almost stopped us. Real life turns out to be stranger than fiction. All names and locations have been changed to protect the innocent, and the guilty.
