Memory and the Name

"Memory and the Name" is a century-long saga about a Moscow family, whose story reflects the history of post-Revolutionary Russia, and whose members shared the destiny of their generation. This was the generation that lived through the crucible of starvation and destruction, the Stalinist purges, World War II, the infamous Doctors'' Conspiracy, Khrushchev''s "Thaw," Brezhnev''s stagnation, the dissident movement, and immigration. This is the love story of Arnold and Bella; it is a story of two people''s devotion to one another and to the people close to them set against a backdrop of the dramatic historic events that defined Russia before and after World War II.
