Max Goes to Africa

Max is an old dog, but that doesn't keep him from learning some new tricks. When his Mom takes him on an adventure all away across the ocean to a village in Africa, Max meets some fascinating new animals--and new human friends too

About the Author

Max is a fourteen-year-old dachshund who loves peanuts and long naps.

Ruth Calkins was born in New York City in 1927. She is widowed, with five children, and spent a career working for the World Medical Fund. She and Max traveled to Malawi together for the entire summer of 2016.
