Jake and Elizabeth Rigsby are a very special couple who are truly in love. They buy a dog and name it Penny. Then Elizabeth gets diagnosed with lung cancer and dies. Jake finds peace and love with Penny. Soon Jake gets a job and meets Bob. When thugs break into Jake's house, Bob gives him a gun. But then Penny gets ill and what happens to her forces Jake to make a huge decision.
