Lymphatic Filariasis

This book covers six studies related to prevalence, transmission, distribution, spatial analysis and mapping of lymphatic filariasis (LF) and soil transmitted helminths (STH) infection in Jaffna and Trincomalee districts. In Sri Lanka, LF was formerly endemic and recently has been declared eliminated as a public health problem. However, transmission of LF was not studied detail in Jaffna and Trincomalee districts due to long political unrest. To assess the transmission and distribution of LF and STH in these districts, present investigations were carried out in an integrated way to accomplish cost effectiveness.
