Having become 'locked down' to within a few miles of his Sheffield home, the author Peter Machan spent a solitary year exploring the nearby Loxley Valley and discovered the surprising 'Cabinet of Curiosities' of diverse landscapes, historical characters, tragic and dramatic events, unusual occupations, perplexing ruins and unique folk tales and traditions that make this area so fascinating.
