Still, one logging magnate is willing to take the risk—for the chance to make some green by running out all the other lumber companies. Even if it requires a little intimidation and coercion—or murder…
 
But the greedy snake doesn’t realize there’s a new arrival in Pitchfork—a stranger who goes by Long, who claims he’s been a feller, a bucker, a peeler, a bull whacker, and a river pig. What he doesn’t mention, however, is that he’s on assignment as a Deputy U.S. Marshal. And the monopolizin’ sort don’t cotton much to the law. So Longarm’d better watch his step—or knock on wood…
