Long Beard: Heir to the sea

When pirates invade his small island, 10-year-old Ronan races to face them, while everyone else runs away. He manages to keep them off the island, but he gets more than he bargained for; a one-way ticket to the Caribbean Heir to the Sea is the first volume of a planned chapter-book trilogy. It follows Ronan's adventures at sea as he grows up to become the pirate Long Beard and tries to discover the secret behind a strange treasure map.
