Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The object of the following pages is to supply the general reader with a simple text-book on logic. There are, it is true, several elementary manuals already, but the speciality of the present one lies in its illustrations of logical principles from old and new writers, and from the political and social discussions of the period.
