List of lycopods and ferns in El Garbanzo

Lycopods and ferns are vascular plants, which grow in different plant communities; however, few species have been reported in the tropical deciduous forest. These plants are ecologically important, e.g., they influence nutrient accumulation, decomposition processes and increase nitrogen fixation in litter, and are bioindicators of conservation and disturbance. Pteridiobiont flora in Guanajuato in recent years has increased with the exploration of protected natural areas and municipalities.
