A violent solar flare blasts the earth destroying the power girds and knocking out all communication satellites. Modern conveniences are gone. Chaos erupts around the world Lights Out follows a small group of people through the nightmare that their lives have become. They have no electricity or running water. The phones don't work. All forms of authority including the police have been rendered useless. Looters, gangs, and gun toting vigilantes have hit the streets.
