NEBRASKA CATTLE COUNTRY, late 1800's. When Kansas enacts a quarantine law to keep Texas cattle out of the state, the Sandrick and Richards families set out to turn Ogallala into the next big cattle shipping station of the Midwest. Beth's dream was to live out her days on the Sandrick family ranch in Cherry County, but the draw of building and operating a new stockyard is strong enough to convince her to join her family in the venture with the Richards men. Sand-Rich Stockyards became a thriving enterprise soon after and put Ogallala on the map as one of the largest cattle towns in the United States. As Beth's life intertwines with her sister, Dylynn, Sand-Rich Stockyards and young Cal Richards, events unfold that challenge her faith and her grit.
