From her traumatic beginning in Jamaica, she was confronted with abuse and abandonment from the people who should have protected and loved her. She escaped to New York at seventeen years old, only to encounter hardships and deceit. Her remarkable determination and faith in God helped her overcome the adversities and achieve many accomplishments including her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees and her contributions as a SIFI instructor for the Master of Social Work Program at New York University (NYU) and Adjunct Professor at Long Island University (LIU).
