Letters to Uncle Jeb

In this humorous coming of age story, heartwarming Appalachian family relationships uphold Gid on his journey to maturity. A lonely teenaged boy copes with estrangement from his mother and separation from his imprisoned uncle. He writes his uncle Jeb a series of unbelievable letters in hopes of hastening his uncle's release. Meanwhile, in seeking to solve the mystery of strange happenings in the woods, Gid meets an unlikely friend who helps him with his abandonment issues and provides motivation for Gid to learn and grow. Both Gid and his uncle find romance and face its attendant challenges. The story takes a science fiction turn and addresses issues related to the anticipated event of singularity.
