"e;Borders of My Heart"e; is a simple and true story of a father's love for his son and his refusal to give him up when ordered to do so by a Michigan court after the mother had remarried and settled down. In order to retain physical custody, he had to defy the court order, resulting in a clandestine cross-country move to Southern California in contempt of that court. The flight, and its resulting aftermath, make up the time line of that odyssey, even further endearing the father to his son, as well as eventually to the son's own family, including three children that later came along.
