Jacobite Exile

In the late seventeenth century, the United Kingdom was torn asunder by religious and political sectarian conflict. In A Jacobite Exile, a historical novel geared for younger audiences, teenager Charlie Carstairs finds himself in the thick of the unrest. His father sides with the Jacobites, a minority which came to suffer persecution, so the family flees to Sweden, where Charlie volunteers for military service.
