I've Got the Month of May is a collection of poems that embodies motherhood from its beginning. Each section imaginatively depicts the ups and downs of each stage of the beautifully chaotic journey of being a mother. It highlights a mother's joy and worries that are produced by the heavy weight of the responsibilities that come with this important role. The speaker takes the reader on an exploration of one of the most natural occurrences known to man, and woman, starting with a mother poet writing about pregnancy long before she had knowledge of her pregnancy. Her body and soul knew well before she did.
