Introduction to Plausible Reasoning

This book is a short introduction to the theory of plausible reasoning according to the thought of Nicholas Rescher. This book was originally intended for IB Theory of Knowledge students, but anyone interested in plausibility theory and its implications for knowledge will find this to be a very accessible introduction. In this book, we explore the evolutionary nature of knowledge acquisition, the limitations of human knowing, and the reasons that achieving knowledge is not as easy as most people tend to believe. This book aims to provide a logical basis for approaching knowledge claims with a reasonable degree of epistemic humility.
