Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. I send this laborious volume to the press with a clear sense of its limitations. But on this subject no more need be said the Shortcomings of the work will be at least as evident to others as to myself.
