This book concentrates on problems generated by acute care in severely traumatized patients during the first 24 hours after injury. During this hectic period, highly complicated problems have to be solved at the site of the accident, during transport to hospital, and in hospital. Multiple medical and paramedical disciplines are involved in providing care to the severely injured.
