Industry 4.0 and its impact on the supply chain

2019: The digital revolution is underway, it's the beginning of Industry 4.0. As with other industrial revolutions, innovations and new technologies have enabled this disruptive period. But the rapid pace of global diffusion of these techniques requires the company to understand "forced march". This revolution implies new business models and a rapid transformation. Our major challenge is to be able to adapt. There are many examples in the news: artificial intelligence is capable of diagnosing better than doctors, a humanoid robot can do back flips and drones will soon be delivering our packages. Some companies have already started to transform their supply chain and many others are thinking about it. This transformation implies the use of many technologies impacting the performance of supply chain activities. These changes will profoundly modify the way companies are organized, but they will also raise many ethical questions about mankind and the world we want to build.
