The Index of Names of Draft History of Qing is compiled by Mr Su Qingbin with 50 years of efforts and is the most complete reference book among the counterparts.In recent years, with the rise of the database, a name can be searched in a flash.However, depending on database search, there are often some problems.First of all, there are people with same name in different ages, which the database cannot distinguish.Secondly, when the names of people appear in the text, many of them are only mentioned by their given names, without surnames. A name can be shared by many people in the Draft. So searching by name will load too many unrelated data, causing problems instead.In addition, the Index of Names is arranged by the stroke of surname and given name and will provide unpredictable benefits for the researchers.Finally, after a name, its related variant name, courtesy name, and nickname are added, which cannot be done by the database, greatly facilitating the researchers.
